Methodology Refined Technologies takes a phased approach to each project. Each project is broken down into four phases: 1. Architecting/Specification, 2. Development, 3. Pilot Testing. 4. Final Development / Rollout This methodology is a suggested, proven process for numerous types of projects. However, if the customer desires another type of project philosophy, we will design to it. We can also get started in any phase of a project if the customer has performed the prior phases of work. Architect / Specification This phase involves our consultants meeting with the customer to define the high level goals of the project. Once these goals are established, we design a technical approach to achieve these goals. The technical approach gives us the tools to create a detailed specification. When the specification is created it is presented to the customer for approval and when approved the development phase can begin, with our developers designing to the specification. This phase is important to allow the developers a basis to design the project and to ensure the customer understands what will be delivered. Development Depending on the size of the project the development may be broken up into multiple phases and managed to these phases by the Project Manager. Pilot Testing During this phase a select group of customer based users will use the code and provide feedback as to any design bugs found or features that may need to be adjusted or redesign. This feedback is evaluated by the Project Teams and a list of design changes will be produced. After the new features are agreed upon by the Project Team, the feature list is submitted to the Development team for implementation. Final Development / Rollout During this phase the feed back from the pilot testing is evaluated and bug fixes and feature changes are implemented into the design. Then the redesign is tested and the solution is rolled out to the user community. |
